DAY 01: ARRIVAL
Welcome to Rwanda! On arrival in Kigali, you will clear immigration and customs and meet your representative who will accompany you on your private vehicle transfer to Hotel Des Mille Collines where you can relax and settle in before your adventure begins the following day.
DAY 02: OFF TO VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK
You will enjoy a delicious breakfast and afterwards travel by road from Kigali, driving north through the terraced hills of Rwanda’s small-scale farmers, towards the cloud-covered Virunga Mountains. You will arrive at your safari lodge in time for lunch in the afternoon. You will spend the day leisurely to prepare for your gorilla trek the following day. Dinner and overnight at Da Vinci Gorilla Lodge
DAY 03: GORILLA TREKKING AT VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK
After an early breakfast and briefing from your guide, you will set off with your guides into the equatorial rain forest searching for your designated mountain gorilla family. You’ll trek along the slopes of the Virunga Mountain range, ascending slowly through dense bamboo and foliage for up to several hours while your guides locates the habituated gorilla family. Your porter will carry camera equipment, additional clothing and bottled water. Once found, you will spend quality time with your gorilla family, watching them feed and socialize, before trekking back to your starting point and lodge. DAY 04: RETURN TO KIGALI
You’ll wake up to the sounds of the forest and enjoy a final breakfast at the lodge before you embark on a road transfer to Kigali. If time permits, you will stop at a local craft market and cultural Centre before you arrive at Kigali Airport for your onward flight arrangements.
